MTK on AnTuTu V5.0(Beta)

MTK, focusing on the medium and low-end market,gets more and more users these years. With Antutu new update, performance scores on chips in MTK family get some changes. We will take about how these scores change in Antutu V5.0 and see the reason behind the changes.

MTK Chips is a big family with large amount of products Numbers,covering tablet and smartphone platform. Today, we pick some common smartphone solutions to make this comparison.

NOTE: As for scores of V4.0, we take average score of each item from each device model.

As for scores of V5.0(Beta), we tested many times and take an average score among them.

1、MT6592 2.0GHz、Mali-450

2、MT6592 1.7GHz、Mali-450

3、MT6582M、Mali-400

4、MT6589 、PowerVR SGX 544MP

The update of V5.0 does not “update” the scores couple thousands for all chips. Greater weight on graphics performance,with scores up; graphic stress increased,with scores down.These two factors gap away from entry level and medium-to-high end chip products. The gap in MTK is relatively small.

There is no big score change on MT6592 (2.0GHz)-- the most powerful one in MTK market.

The gap between MTK and snapdragon 801, Exynos5420and NVIDIA K1is bigger than what we see in V4.0.

MTK emphasizes on power consumption. A7 is relatively weak on absolute performance,with non-flagship GPU product in its solution. But, we may expect the coming MT6595,which gets great improvement on CPU and GPU.
